Help Bianca recover from a burglary

Donation protected

On saturday October 28th some time between 5:30pm and midnight my home in Elizabeth, NJ was burglarized. $1150 in cash that I set aside to make a money order for November rent, and my HP laptop were stolen. Both of those things were in my bedroom. When I got home I didnt even realize because nothing was obviously out of place and I was so tired, that I went straight to sleep. I only realized on sunday (10/29) afternoon that anything was missing when I went to go use my laptop and it was nowhere to be found. Thats when I started searching around the house and realized my rent money was also gone. The cops were called, they came and I filed a police report with them, and they looked for any evidence. Nothing else was obviously out of place or ransacked but the officer pointed out that there were knife marks on the inside of the door where bottom lock is and that is most likely how the criminal gained entry to my apartment.

Thank goodness that I was not there when this home burglary occured, and that my cat Walter is safe and unharmed. Even though the items taken are just material, the fact that they were stolen has suddenly put me in a difficult position financially. My laptop had stored credit card information on it, and access to various personal accounts of mine. I was also in the midst of doing crucial work on my computer designing my website, logo, and editing photos for my jewelry line that I was planning to officially launch on my birthday next week November 6th. I am really devastated that this new endeavor of mine had to come to a halt under these circumstances.

More than anything my peace of mind is gone now that my home has been violated. I am deeply shaken that someone was in my bedroom. As a woman, that is a horrible feeling. As scary as it is, I cannot live in fear as I dont have the the means to move right now.

I notified my landlord immediately and he will be changing the locks to more secure locks on the front door, and my apartment door this week. I have protected my financial accounts, I'm following up with detectives, and I plan on installing a surveillance camera to prevent this from happening again.

For now, I ask that you contribute anything to help me recover from this gross personal invasion. The cash taken was the amount of my rent $1150 , and my HP X360 laptop is valued at $849.99. Rent is due November 1st but there I do have a one week grace period.

I am so humbly grateful for any contribution made for this cause. I am very shaken but I am also very strong.

Much love and thanks
Bianca
