Help Bartek beat pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst ones you can get. Usually, there are no symptoms until the cancer is pretty advanced and survival statistics don’t look great then. 

My name is Bartek. I am only 38 years old and never needed to stay at a hospital before in my entire life. Up until now, I’ve never had any medical problems. I was perfectly healthy. That’s why it came as complete shock to me and my wife when I was diagnosed with a stage 4 pancreatic cancer 4 months ago. That was just 2 weeks after we welcomed our son Henry into this world. My first thoughts were: how can I leave them now? How’s my wife going to cope with Eliot, our 3-year-old and a newborn all by herself? I don’t know how much time I’ve got left? Who’s going to be there for them when I’m gone. 

But then I thought - NO. Miracles do happen. Every medical case is different. I am going to fight this for myself and for my young family. So, at the moment, I am going through chemotherapy. I am still young, and even thought I lost some weight over the last few months, I have energy and determination left in me to fight the disease.

Chemotherapy will keep my tumor in check for a while, but it won’t cure it. My only chance is new therapies based on boosting my own immune system. Some of them use dendritic cells, but there are a few different ones that look promising. 

So the money I am trying to raise is for me to be able to undergo immunotherapy and hopefully achieve full remission. I can only do this by turning for help to good people as we don’t have the kind of money we’re talking about here. These are all new, innovative therapies not yet approved for use by the NHS or FDA. But they’re my best shot at staying alive and enjoying a bright future with my wife and 2 little boys I love so much.
