Community, friends... I am asking for help for Barb...
On June23rd our friend Barb, 78yrs old, was found cut up and covered in abrasions abandoned on a Mt logging road at night without her car, or the two canes she uses to walk with. She remembers crawling on her hands & knees along the gravel road in the dark until she was lucky enough to be found by a local, who called police. She’s been in the hospital since...
Her car was finally found days later. Window bashed out, belongings gone. Wheel’s lugs sheared off, missing nuts. It is completely un-drivable.
I am asking for help to either fix her beater old car, or to get her a better car for her BDay, (THIS IS A REVISION: I WILL NOT BUY HER A CAR FOR SAFETY PURPOSES AND THE NEED TO GET HER IN A HOME), she needs clothes, toiletries, gifts... She turned 79yrs this Friday, July the 28th, a week after this happened... And she has nothing.
If U kno who I’m talking about then U kno this weekend was her own personal hell... I would not wish on anyone...
I’d like to give her a home but I do not judge her years of refusals. “...I can only stand by and hope I am there to catch her when she makes bad decisions, and encourage her when she makes good ones. She is an adult and chooses her life, and I chose to be her friend...” I cannot force her to make life decisions, but I cannot turn my back on her either...
