Help Baby Waddle Bloom

Our beautiful boy, James, was born on March 3, 2018. There were complications during labor that led to a cesarean delivery, which we later learned were related to a condition called craniosynostosis that had not been diagnosed in utero. Basically, this means that the plates in his skull fused together sooner than they were supposed to and prevented his head from molding to fit through the birth canal. If not corrected, this condition will limit his brain's ability to grow and has the potential to cause brain damage and/or learning disabilities. This condition has already led to deformities in his head shape, which will need to be addressed as well. As such, he will be having corrective surgery this summer. Right now, we're not sure what the extent or implications of his specific problems are, as we have not yet met with the specialist; however, what we do know is that his care is likely to become expensive. He will require an initial surgery, helmeting therapy, significant follow-up care, and potentially additional surgeries, which means that mom and dad will be taking time off from work, traveling to meet with the specialist, spending time in hotels, and using lots of gas - on top of racking up medical bills. Besides having craniosynostosis, James also required almost immediate re-hospitalization after his birth due to severe jaundice and dehydration that were not appropriately managed during our initial hospital stay. Despite having decent insurance coverage through dad's work, we have already accumulated over $3,000 in medical bills and expect to accumulate more because of his craniosynostosis. Mom and dad's main concern right now is ensuring that James is able to get the care that he needs so that he can continue to grow and be a happy and healthy boy, so any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
