Help Athena kick cancers butt

My gorgeous friend, Athena, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She does so much for everyone else, has pushed through despite all odds her entire life facing extreme obstacles and yet continues to do what she can to help others.
Her mother passed away when she was young, she's adopted on her dads side so no medical history to refer to. Athena went to the doctor about what she thought was an ear infection, it turned out to be much worse!
Her is what she posted on Facebook when she found out:
"So, four weeks ago I went to the doctor because I thought I had an ear infection. I'm the worlds biggest hypochondriac and usually don't go to the doctor for ear pain but I'm so glad I listened to God.
Today I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and it has spread to my lymph nodes, so far, a few but I am having additional tests done to double check. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.
It's been hard these last few weeks, emotionally, physically and mentally. And it's probably just a taste of what I'm up against but it was probably worse because I didn't know and now I do.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has been there for me, from people who have taken me to doctor appointments to people I call or see on a regular basis to my boyfriend who is with me until the end, my family and my work. And I would like to ask for additional prayers, good thoughts, juju or holy dirt ( it exist!) .
If you don't feel good, go to the doctor. Remember, I thought I had an ear infection and it was cancer.

Her surgery is going to be $5,000. Not to mention the two weeks of bed rest, recovery, time off work and other expenses related to medical issues like this.
