Help Artist Airic Brumitt

Donation protected
I have started this campaign to help raise money to assist my friend Airic Brumitt who has fallen on hard times, which has taken its toll on his health. One of the best artists I have ever seen, his work best known by Alice Cooper fans (for the work he did for Alice for some twenty years), his life has taken a downward spiral which I have personally witnessed and felt I needed to do something to help him turn it around. Unable to get the medical attention he needs, he is barely existing financially trying to meet rent, food, and basic needs. Past tax and medical bills keeps him from getting the medical attention he desperately needs. My goal is to raise enough money to get him caught up on his bills, reinstate the prescriptions he can no longer can afford to fill, and get him to the doctor to get the medical attention he so sorely needs to get him healthy again. After that he can get back to work and start taking care of himself and hopefully get back to where he once was.

My name is Hugh Gallagher and I have known Airic since I was ten years old.  We grew up together, played in the band "Hell" for many years, and spent countless hours watching and collecting horror paraphernalia and listening to rock n roll (Airic credits me for his fixation with Alice Cooper having exposed him back in the early 70s).   After becoming adults we have gone different paths but interact on a regular basis getting together to watch movies, play pool on my rickety pool table, and just reminiscing.

After his recent divorce he lost most of what he had and with his health situation has been unable to acquire work.  He gets by from help from his father and selling off a massive rock n' roll and monster collection he had piece by piece.  I have seen that collection dwindle down to almost nothing and being sold at pennies on the dollar just to survive. Money raised in this campaign will pay his accumulated bills, get the prescriptions he needs, and get him into the doctor to hopefully get him the medical attention he needs and his health turned around .

I approached Airic about doing this fund, something he was resistant to in the past, but having exhausted all avenues finally gave in. I asked him to write on overview of his situation. He has no computer access, no internet, and operates on a prepaid flip phone. He handed me this overview of his situation hand written on a legal pad:

A friend approached me about trying to do this. It's difficult for me, a 57 year old man that has worked hard to be independent. I had stocks, retirement and some savings but it all gone. Not because of myself but from a relationship I had been in. In that relationship, I slowly developed health issues. I had a job for ten years and was a stellar employee. I quit the job to help my mate and after the relationship ended, my job position had been filled.

I am a musician and an artist. I did artwork for Alice Cooper for 20 plus years. It took pure dedication and lots of hard work for me to make that happen. It was not handed to me. I designed the Alice Cooper half skull and designed stage sets and props, including the Dirty Diamonds “Angel of Death” guillotine. I designed and oversaw the fabrication of and painted stage clothes for Alice and band members. I consulted during photo and video shoots. I contributed with tour book photography and was an all around graphic artist for Alice. That credit shows up in a few tour books, CDs/LPs and even a 1975 concert DVD from Rhino. My art was requested to be displayed in the Tommy Hilfinger “Rockstyle” show at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York from Fall of 1999 though Spring of 2000. My art currently hangs in the Hardrock in New York. I also have mentions and artwork in a few books; the 2nd Kisstory book and the Kiss Tour magazine. The Treasures of the Hardrock Cafe book as well.

I stepped away from the Alice Cooper camp after we lost Brian “Renfield” Nelson. The dynamic had changed but not between Alice and I. The ideas continue to come to me on a daily basis for Alice. It's not transferable to any other artist, nor would I want it to be.

In the interim I had worked a job that eventually was too demanding for my health. Bills have stacked up and because of the kindness of my dad, he has helped as best as he can. It is humiliating to be in such a circumstance for me personally. I would prefer to be of use and have a purpose. To contribute and avoid this type of situation.

Not sure what will happen, just need a break that could sustain me and allow me to pay for the bills that I owe.

Airic's current health issues is his body develops blood clots, one making it to his right lung 13 years ago and later to his legs.

Several years ago he went to specialists to address his leg issues, multiple tests were ran and the diagnosis was “abnormal nerve damage”, why they did not know. Surgery was given as an option but it was not guaranteed this would solve the problem.

In the last year he was told he had type 2 diabetes and he was developing kidney problems.

He has two diseases in his eyes; macular fibroplasia and vitreous synersesis. Both have leveled off but he was told at some point he would see a black curtain and lose his vision.

His health issues have been mostly ignored, and medication he should be taking has not been filled due to lack of funds. Not getting any medical attention and not taking medicines that were already prescribed has taken a major toll on his overall health, I feel if something is not done soon to turn his life around the situation may be beyond fixing.
So, please share this story and help me raise the money needed to turn this situation around. If for any reason you wish to contact Airic, or looking to hire a talented artist, please send me your information to me  and I will get the message to him. But remember, he has no computer access so he will need to respond with a phone call, text or letter. If I am with him when a donation is received I give him my phone to respond.

All monies raised in this campaign are deposited direction into Airic Brummit's bank account.  Although he does not have computer or internet access, I have set this up for monthly withdraws to go directly into his bank account.  No monies will be accessible to anyone else, including myself.  Know that any money you donate will go directly to him.

Please note the three prints under the main photo above numbered 1, 2, 3 that I am offering with donations:

I realize that everyone doesn't want to turn over their hard earned cash to someone they may not know. I completely understand. But I am now offering up three prints of Airic's art that he has given me for this campaign that have never been offered before, two of which have never been seen before. GoFundMe is no longer set up with a rewards program but you can pick the prints you want and send me your choices along with your address and you will receive your print in late-September. Each print will be signed and numbered by artist Airic Brumitt.

To get a print a donation of $30 is required. Obviously, if you spend $60 you can get your choice of two prints or $90 for all three prints! Just send me your choice or choices along with your address. Your print will be sent out late-September. If you have already donated before I added this and want a print I don't want to exclude you. Please contact me with your choice and your address.

This is a really rare opportunity to own some cool images and with each print signed and numbered by the artist Airic Brumitt makes these rare images even more collectible. I have each print numbered:

Print #1: A Christmas card made for Alice Cooper to use back in 1987. It was shown on Entertainment Tonight “Christmas Cards of the Stars”. This 8x10 full color print on 100# matte card stock. Only 100 will be made, each signed and numbered by Airic.

Print #2. Designed for a merchandise T-shirt that was never used, although t-shirts were made for Alice and some of the Alice Cooper team. This 8x10 black and white print is on 100# matte card stock. Only 100 will be made, each signed and numbered by Airic.

Print #3. The original painting for an album that was to be titled Sex, Death and Money. The name was changed and became Raise Your Fist and Yell. They didn't think the skull fit the new title so this artwork was never used. This 8x8 full color print is on 100# matte card stock. Only 100 will be made, each signed and numbered by Airic.

Note: I have had a lot of trouble getting these photos to upload correctly. I have posted the photos in this update and also on a separate post. If you have any issues seeing the entire image and need to see it please email me and I can send you better reproductions.

Thanks for your help.
