HELP AND SUPPORT ALINA’S JOURNEY TO HEALTH

Those of you who know Alina, you KNOW she is a happy, silly, kind and joyous beautiful 9 year old girl.  She unfortunately was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.  She now suffers from loss of appetite, stomach pain, blood loss, weight loss and constant bathroom visits.  It is a lot for an adult to handle such diagnosis, however for a 9 year old to comprehend her new life and function like a normal child of her age has been quite emotionally difficult. 

A recent flare-up and stomach virus has caused Alina to start a very challenging journey back to health.  She has been at the hospital for almost two weeks and the medical team has fallen in love with her magical spirit, her love of unicorns and the color pink.  Her family and medical team are concerned because she has lost a significant amount of weight and her body is struggling to absorb nutrients and fluids which is making the discharge date and the return to "normal" a longer path. 

Her new "normal" will be filled with medications and supplements to take since it is a chronic illness that can go into remission, if treated appropriately.  We hope that Alina will thrive back to health and go back to school.  While their new "normal" may not be what they ever dreamed of, they hope that with the medical advancements of this disease, treatments and appropriate supplements; Alina will have a full life of happiness and joy once again.  

We ask for help for the sweetest little girl who is struggling in many ways.  The money will go towards the on-going therapy, treatments and medications, supplements, and the hospital stay portions that are not covered by insurance.  We are forever grateful for any help you are able to give.  Thank you so very much for your generosity in advance.
