Hi, my name is Elizabeth Paige. I am a Christian author and minister in the US, but have a beloved friend who is a pastor in Kenya, Pastor Peter Kuyuni of Salvation to Nations Ministries. Pastor Kuyuni currently pastors five congregations--one which meets under a tree by the side of the road and has 43 orphans in his care--orphaned by AIDS, poverty, violence, and prostitution. Through some efforts we have managed to build an orphanage now looking forward to two build dormitories, a dinning hall, and a kitchen. Than you for your support!

As you can imagine, the poverty is staggering--24 percent of the population lives on less than $1 per day--and because of that, children are often malnourished or neglected, or even sold into the sex trade. Crime and prostitution are rampant, which further spreads HIV/ AIDS and leaves children abandoned and orphaned at an heart-breaking rate.

Right now, Pastor Kuyuni is responsible for the care of 46 orphans (although 100 more could use our help). He desperately needs to build an orphan's home to keep them safe and off the streets. It is the cry of my heart to help him to build and maintain that, although I don't have the money myself. But they only need $10,000 USD to buy the land and build a facility to house and care for the children. Although that is a lot for one person to come up with, it isn't a lot if we pool our resources. This is very doable.

Hope's House Foundation Kenya is now established, registered, and has been inspected by the Kenyan government. We are now a certified non-profit NGO (non-governmental humanitarian aid organization. No one receives a salary, and all of the work is done by Kenyan Christian volunteers in the area, so you can rest assured that all of your donations are going directly to the aid of these precious children. We also keep an open, public book of finances available on the website at www.hopeshousekenya.org/finances.

He said that his corn farm can produce enough to feed the children, and he has Christian workers who can care for them and train them up in the love of Christ, which they so desperately need.

I understand this need, because my husband and I adopted two of our children after they had spent 8 and 11 years in orphanages in Russia. Had it not been for the power of a holy God, they would be among the heart-wrenching statistics of hopeless, institutionalized children, who turn to crime and many commit suicide within 1 year of leaving the orphanages at the age of 16. Let's make sure that never happens to these beautiful African children!

I am asking for your help, on the behalf of these children. My goal is to raise $10,000 for the price of the land and building, $700 to buy a used motorcycle for transportation, and $300 to buy goats, rabbits, chickens, pigs, and anything they can raise for food.

If you would like to send monthly amounts of any size to help with shoes, books, clothing, and essentials for the children, and even send them gifts and letters, that would be amazing!! You can contact him through www.salvationtonations.webs.com and send money directly to his PayPal account: peterkuyuni@yahoo.com. Our dollars stretch a long way to such impoverished nations and can be so effective, especially when every penny goes to help those in need! You can also visit our site and donate gifts or sponsor a child there: www.hopeshousekenya.org.

Below is Pastor Kuyuni's story in his own words:

"I am Pastor Peter Kuyuni from Kitale, Kenya. I am the founder of salvation to nations ministries www.salvationtonations.webs.com , www.facebook.com/pkuyuni, www.twitter.com/pkuyuni

However, Salvation to Nations Ministries considers it to be our privilege and obligation to help the orphans, widows, unborn, and homeless children.

Kenya has more than 2 million orphans and vulnerable children. Some struggle with HIV/AIDS and other diseases. More than 100 thousand of them die yearly due to lack of life basic needs, basic health, and hygiene.

"Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me"

Psalms 27:10

HIV/AIDS is the main cause of orphaned children in Africa including Kenya. Therefore it is likely to create double the number of orphans than any other cause of death.

Poverty is the key door to prostitution and robbery in Kenya. Moreover it is the route to HIV/AIDS infection. Due to destitutution, many women are tempted to prostitution to meet their daily needs, abandoning their families.

The village is near the River Sabwani in Kitale, Kenya. The soil is a mixture of clay soil and sand soil. It is hard to construct a toilet (which is just a hole in the ground), so disease spreads. Children are more vulnerable to diseases  than adults especially malaria and cholera.

The past election violence in Kenya in 2008 caused orphaned children and homeless people until today.

Orphanage harassment and mistreat causes orphaned children to be worse than before. We have some orphans who ran away from the orphanage and in the hands of their guardians to become street children. Not all people have the ability of caring for orphans, unless given talent from God.

Psalms 27: 10

"and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. 11The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail" Isaiah58:10-11.

I adopted 3 children, two of them both parents died of HIV/AIDS; one his parents died during the past election violence in the year 2008. There are still 20 children in my village that need total care. Though some have single parents, others are under their guardians, others come from poor family, and they are still suffering. Though I visit them weekly, giving them some food, my support is not enough. Actually we need an orphanage in our village to accommodate them all, so that they can feel as other children do.

I believe in the parable of the mustard seed, that a tiny thing can be a big thing and profitable. For a start, we can buy a land, build a home inside, put the oppressed children in, and take them to the near schools in January, as we prepare to do other things for them. For a start, these can cost 10,000 dollars. I believe by January these children will be settled."

I hope you will join with us in meeting the basic needs of these precious children! Thank you for your kind heart and support! May God bless you richly in your giving, because "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.'" (Matthew 25:40)
