Help Harvey! “Red Cake Man” Victim of Hit and Run!

Donation protected
Our 80-year old grandfather, Harvey, famous "red cake man" was unfortunately hit late Sunday night/early monday morning in a hit and run accident. The driver, a young Male in a pick up truck, drove off the road to hit him then proceeded to hit his car. Stopping only to ask if he was alive, before he took off. Hours later, a passer by saw him laying in the ditch and called 911. Police arrived at 3am, escorting him to the hospital. No one currently has information on the driver however NYSP are still looking for him. The extent to Harvey's injuries are substantial. He has 4 broken toes, a broken right fibula, 4 broken ribs, a laceration above his right eye and a dislodged nose bone. Multiple areas of missing skin, including his elbows and nose, and multiple areas of severe bruising and pain.
Harvey, prior to losing his long-standing local bakery, is a retired Binghamton fireman and retired Marine. Currently, at 80-years old, distributes newspapers for the Press and Sun Bulletin. Which of course is what he was doing when this accident occurred. Unable to keep Harvey down, he’s continually active and always trying to help out others with minor repair work. This will no doubt keep Harvey out of commission for a long while. Aside from missing work, there will be amass of medical bills and home care needed following his release from the hospital.
