Help & Pray for Ashley Hamby

Donation protected
Many have asked what can be done to help Ashley. Prayers are top priority and they have certainly helped pull her through this difficult time.  Friday, September 7th Ashley was admitted to Grace Hospital for a Crohn's flare up.  She was there until Friday, September 14th. In the early hours of Saturday, Sept.15th she had to be taken back for an excruciating headache.  They said she was dehydrated and gave her fluids and sent her on her way.  Sunday, Sept. 16th her headache had become even more unbearable and her vision became affected.  Her dad took her to Catawba Hospital this time and they did a CT scan and spotted something abnormal, a mass, on her brain.  She was immediately taken by ambulance to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  She was admitted into Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit.  Her diagnoses was cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). This is a rare stroke.  This stroke is different because it's a blockage in the occipital  vein in the brain. (Typically clots that cause strokes are in the arteries in the brain).  The blood wasn't able to drain and that is why she has a headache and vision disturbances.  Fast forward to today, Saturday, Sept. 22nd she is still in Neuro-ICU.  Her clots are stable which is right on target because they have to be very slowly dissolved.  In the meantime, her Crohn's has flared up again and is causing difficulties in the treatment.  She is loosing blood, having transfusions, unable to have head/eye pressure relief and she has a kidney stone!  This has, to say the least, caused a large bump in her road to recovery.  The worst part of all of this is she hasn't been able to see her sweet Parker.  She saw him once while at Grace.  The rules at Baptist (and most hospitals) forbid a child from visiting, no matter the circumstance.  She is sad about that and he is constantly on her mind.  Her dad has been by her side for the entire time. Please contact the following people for all your concerns and questions- Her dad, Jeana, Bailey, Sheila, or Maria.  We are trying to keep Ashley’s sadness and stress to a minimum and she misses her son terribly!!!

Ashley works but will be unable to for an unknown amount of time.  She has no income and no insurance. Prayers are top priority but if you can, and want to, help financially this is the way!!

Thank you so much and we will continue to update!!

Please say a prayer for her this Sunday morning.  She needs it today
