This is the story of Alison Gannett, who miraculously survived a diagnosis of terminal malignant brain cancer, and who desperately needs another medical miracle.

Alison had a tough childhood and was fearful in her teens. She determined to overcome her fear and became an  extreme skier. Learning to overcome fear has been hugely important in her journey with cancer.

Alison now lives on a farm in rural Colorado with her husband, Jason.

Alison's life was shattered when she was diagnosed with terminal malignant brain cancer in 2013. Alison’s prognosis was about 6 months to live.

Here is a photo of her tumor before it was removed.  It was the size of a baseball, growing to the size of a grapefruit, and was really crowding out her brain.

The surgery got most but not all of the tumor.  Here is Alison in recovery from the surgery.

With support from her team, Alison made a MEDICAL MIRACLE.

Alison has survived almost six years! Far beyond what was expected. She has worked her butt off to accomplish this!

Now Alison needs another MEDICAL MIRACLE.

A byproduct of her life-saving brain surgery is “Cystic Encephalomalcia” - which is tissue death in her brain.  You can see in the recent brain scan photo what has happened - the strange blank section of her brain on the left hand upper corner.

There is help for this very serious condition. Hyperbaric oxygen treatments (HBOT) have been prescribed.

The hyperbaric oxygen treatments are used to treat traumatic brain injury, and may help to limit reoccurrence of cancer. Alison has an 8-week series of treatments, two hours a day in the hyperbaric chamber every business day--40 treatments total.

The cost for the treatments is $8,000.

This is not covered by insurance. Ironically, if Alison had suffered brain injury from an auto accident this would be covered, but the same kind of injury due to cancer surgery is not covered.

In addition to the $8,000 cost for treatments, Alison has the cost of driving 5,200 miles total to and from the treatments.

Sadly, Alison will lose most of two months of income from  her work as an oncology nutrition coach and will not be able to support her coaching clients as she usually does, because of the time spent on her own treatment.

Alison says, "I'm used to helping others, and find it very hard to ask for help.

I want to live!

I humbly ask for your help to raise $8,000 to cover the cost of treatment.

I'll handle the lost income and travel expenses on my own."

Thank you for reading Alison's story, and considering her request.
