Help Abel family fight Cancer

One of the best, most patriotic families in Hampton Roads, is in need of our help. In 2016, the matriarch of the Abel family, Sherrie, was diagnosed with Stage Four Ovarian Cancer. She has gone through numerous forms of treatment and major surgeries including a HIPEC with heated chemo treatment (Sugarbaker method) and continues to fight a courageous battle. It is time to let them know that they aren’t alone and people care. Every mother and wife deserves the peace of mind knowing that their family is being looked after, loved and supported. Sherrie is one of Mississippi’s finest. In 1993, she married the love of her life Ed. Together they have had three children Tori, Joshua and Christopher. In 2011 they were able to celebrate the families 23 years of service to our country via Ed’s retirement from the Navy. While Ed served on active duty, Sherrie held down the fort over the course of 10 deployments, 5 moves and 7 commands. They spend most of their time supporting their three children in their sporting events, fundraising and various school activities. When they aren’t out at the softball field, they love fishing and all things outdoors. If it has four legs, she has probably fallen in love with it and given it a home. When neighboring families needed help, they jumped to do what they could – even offering a loving home to their dog so they could get back on their feet.

 This family has given so much to everyone around them and it is time for us to give back. Even if it is a small amount, every bit helps
