Help A Young Man From The Philippines

Leomar Sultio is a young 23 year old from an impoverished background living in Guiguinto in the Philippines, urgently in need of further treatment for Stage 2 Brain Cancer. Ideally this treatment could take place in Sydney. In the meantime, without a public health system like we have in Australia, Leomar faces a mountain of medical bills if he is to survive and overcome this illness. He is no longer able to work so he needs support for rent and living expenses as well as medication and hospital treatment which in the Philippines, without any medical insurance, is very expensive. None of his family members are in a position to assist financially, so via a friend, a group has got together in Sydney to help him out.
Leomar is an outstanding young man, a dancer and a budding writer and is doing everything to drive the cancer from his body - following a strict diet, exercising and meditating. He has a very positive attitude and is determined to beat the cancer.
The group of friends supporting him in Sydney have established regular contact with his doctor at his hospital and all bona fides have been verified.

Leomar was born in a remote island province, part of a large and impoverished family whose only income was from fishing. At an early age he went to live with his grandparents who raised him through his primary and high school days. At high school he was often the subject of ridicule from other children as he always wore hand me down uniforms. Despite bullying he was an extremely hard working and intelligent student, eventually winning a scholarship to a college in Bulacan.
There without any family support he worked part time to pay his way through college but eventually the financial burden became too much. Rather than return to his original remote fishing village and become a weight on his family, he chose to remain in the Bulacan area and for a period of six months, was homeless, living on the street.
Eventually Leomar found an abandoned house in a small village many miles from the town centre, where he took up residence, along with two dogs he had rescued off the street. With some part time work he managed to survive there for around three and a half years, often without electricity or decent drinking water.
When an Australian journalist learned of his plight he organized financial help for Leomar, relocating him to a small workers apartment in town and assisting him to find permanent employment. He began working full time at a call centre and the future looked positive until a series of seizures at work saw him hospitalised and the devastating diagnosis of stage two brain cancer
He is extremely positive about his recovery and the prognosis for at least a remission is good, provided he continues with the costly current treatment. He is receiving some financial support from the Australian journalist and friends but needs much more.
