Hi Im Allison, My son Jordan lives in Timor Leste, in the capital city of Dili
He is married to a local girl Linda, Jordan approached me with a fundraising idea for a company called Centru Sover( green and inclusive solutions,
this small company makes products from discarded items and repurposes them , but they have a team of willing women who love to sew and are more than willing to learn the art of clothes making.
I am raising this money to enable them to buy fabrics and cottons to be able to sew , plus if we can raise enough money we were hoping that we could also buy them some sewing machines including an overlocker.
Timor Leste is one of the poorest neighbours we have and they are the warmest welcoming people, who have a very strong desire to bring a little more wealth to their struggling country,
the women have already learned the art of hand embroidery and sewing stitiches and are more than excited at the prospect of having sewing machines and fabric to make clothes for their villages and then if they prove good quality take them to market to sell locally.
Timor Leste is a culture of friendliness and sharing, with many families banding together to afford things like education for their children,
I have visited this country and I am going back in July and I would so be very grateful to be able to present them with a cheque to go towards their very worth while business.
when I talked with one of the leaders of this group His happy excited reaction told me that I needed to get this small enterprise off the ground,
