Please help Caylyn & Marie get on their feet

Donation protected
Marie was a single mom raising 2 little girls (4 and 9) and working at Wegmans. When her oldest daughter, Caylyn’s, ongoing health problems worsened, Marie was forced to take an extended leave to care for her little one, and it quickly became apparent she would not be able to go back to work at all... Little Caylyn has had to have numerous hospitalizations and nearly constant care, meaning momma Marie had to get her to and from their home in Binghamton to the hospital in Rochester many times. The specialists there recommended Caylyn go on a feeding tube, which has been a mixed blessing, as she finally began to gain a little weight and have some energy but the tube site has been a source of infection and complications ever since.

Caylyn is a strong spirit who loves arts & crafts, and adores My Little Pony and all things unicorn! She is doing her best under the circumstances, but it is a hard thing for any little person to go through, and there is no clear end in sight. While many kids go through these kinds of procedures, there is so little understanding of her particular condition Caylyn’s future prognosis is uncertain.  Her medical diagnosis includes Gastroparasis, FPIES, Cyclic Vomiting syndrome, Adominal migraines, chromosome 16 duplication and we're awaiting further genetic tests.

In the  meantime, Marie is struggling to make ends meet. Her sole income now covers rent but nothing else, and despite working with the system to get help, she is having a hard time getting a home aide and getting the correct paperwork for rent assistance and to stay atop of groceries and electricity bills.  She qualified for a home aide who could help with many of these paperwork and medical issues but has hit a wall trying to actually get a home aide to come out to her home!
Marie became my  neighbor just this year, when she had to move from her previous apartment and wound up across the drive from me. She is an amazing momma who is coping with more than I can even imagine. With no car, she hauls all their laundry up & down the steep half-mile hill in a stroller to the laundromat & to get groceries, often with one or both girls in tow.  She is great with the kids and even watches my little girl sometimes, all three girls playing with bubbles or watching cartoons. With mounting medical and travel expenses, utilities have been put on the back burner and now Marie is facing losing her power and phone. We are doing everything we can to work with NYSEG, but at this point they want more than we can come up with, and won’t consider Caylyn’s electric feeding tube a “life threatening” condition to keep the power on. I started this GoFundMe to try to get enough money to pay her overdue electric and make sure she can keep her phone on, so she can worry about the biggerr things, like upcoming genetic testing for Caylyn and trying to enjoy the good days she gets with her girls.

Please consider donating, any amount would help with daily expenses, hopefully we can get enough to keep the electric on for this super-momma!
