Heidi battling cancer
Those of you who know Heidi, know that she is an active member of the community. Anywhere from coaching children sports to being on the 4-H Council- to then running any 5K that would support our community. Heidi worked for the Riverton memorial hospital and then transferred over to the Department of family services ten years ago. Heidi also works at Teton Athletic Club as a spinning and Zumba instructor. We know that she has a positive and upbeat personality, and would do anything for anyone!! On December 19th of 2016 Heidi went in for a routine colonoscopy and at that time they found a rectal tumor. On December 22nd Heidi was diagnosed with Rectal cancer. Heidi has been traveling to lander, to undergo chemo and radiation treatments, has had several trips to Denver to meet with her surgeons. Then on April 3rd of 2017 Heidi went in for surgery, where they removed her rectum, colon, left vaginal wall, lymph nodes, and several inches of her intestines. Which has left her with a lifetime colostomy. Heidi's Journey is not complete yet, and they went to place her port for her next round of chemo they punctured her lung, causing her to stay in the hospital for five days. Heidi is still facing six months of aggressive chemo therapy. Heidi has yet to lose her hair, as it is one of her biggest fears! But has been told to start looking in to purchasing a few wigs! As all of you know her, it's very hard for her to ask for help! But as of right now that's what she could really use!!
