Heather's Helpers - Cancer Sucks!

Donation protected
Heather Saulque is a mother of 4 and a lifetime Benton/Bishop resident who was diagnosed with colon cancer on March 28, 2014. She has undergone over 50 chemo treatments, passing the 2-year survival mark and working on her 3rd! However, 2 weeks ago 3 new tumors were found on her liver. Heather will need 3 to 4 separate urgent procedures performed in Duarte, California. Her normal oncologist is in Lancaster where she is able to stay with family during her regular chemo treatments. These new procedures will cause increased hardships on Heather and her family due to extra costs of hotel rooms, gas for travel, as well as food. While in Duarte, doctors will inject chemo directly into her liver tumors in hopes of destroying the cancer cells. Due to her state of health, Heather is no longer able to work as a direct care-giver for IMAH (Inyo Mono Association for the Handicapped) where she dedicated her days helping developmentally disabled adults learn skills to live a more independent life. Her husband Dennis currently provides the family's only steady income and their financial situation is definitely tight. Any donation, no matter how small, helps and is greatly appreciated! If 100 of us each donated just $5.00 we would be helping Heather and her family immensely. Please keep Heather and her family in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you.
