Our Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival is located in Gympie regional Australia. We screen uplifting stories in a creative and sometimes humourous way to build empathy and understanding and to show new ways of being, promoting positive social change. We provide an opportunity for young filmmakers in schools, students and budding filmmakers around the world to showcase their work. We also bring much needed funds into a rural area of Queensland and provide a much needed arts event for the region. Our festival is a festival with heart.
We are the largest short film festival in Queensland Australia. We currently screen 150 short films submitted from 32 countries, however, we rely heavily on sponsorship, grants and 200 local volunteers to keep our good work going.
We need funds in order to run workshops with influential creatives at our festival, run a cinema campaign and run a social media campaign. This will make our festival richer for artists, patrons and students who attend as well as help grow our festival from 7200 people to over 10000 people so we can become a festival of significance. This would ultimately mean we will attract more sponsorship in the years to come, ensuring the economic future of the regional town of Gympie, and provide a platform for budding filmmakers into the future.
