Heart Surgery - Syrian Refugee Baby
BABY IMAN ZATIMEH (her name means 'Faith') was born 7 weeks ago in the Jordanian refugee camp to which her Syrian parents fled 3 years ago. Her little heart is missing the important tricuspid valve, which severely reduces oxygen supply to her body -- but immediate surgery can save her life. Prognosis for babies who undergo this surgery is very good, but in Jordan the parents must pay the entire $4,000 cost.
Her father Alaa Zatimeh was a barber back home in Syria, but Jordanian law prohibits refugees from working, so the family has only minimal income from his odd jobs.
Iman's grandfather Ismaeen Zatimeh is a refugee living in Fort Worth Texas, and has asked for our help to offer this child the GIFT of LIFE.
