Healthy Trees, Healthy People
Thanks to three amazing grants from Patagonia, George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation,
and Utah FFSL, ReLEAF UTAH is now $25,000 closer to bringing more trees to low-income families on Salt Lake City’s west side in 2018.
We sequestered almost 10,000 pounds of carbon in one tree planting during fall of 2017 at the Roots Disc Golf Course. By using Biochar, we put carbon into the ground where it acts as a "spongue" for water and nutrients.
By planting trees in parks and front and back yards, we bring cleaner air, improved home values and and more green to neighborhoods that need it most.
We need your help. We know there’s a correlation between poor health and minimal tree coverage -- a correlation that may even affect newborn babies’ birth weight.
Please donate to help us plant more clean air!!!
Trees are the answer!
Wondering why we're investing as much as $1,000 in every tree we plant for this project? ReLEAF is committed to their survival. By planting larger trees, adding soil and training volunteers and homeowners, we believe these trees in Rose Park could live for another 100 years or more.
