This has got to be one of the hardest things I've had to do. I've always had a bubbly personality and love helping others but I don't like to ask for help especially when it comes to finances. I am so used to handling it on my own, working hard and doing everything possible to keep things in order. Unfortunately, over the last few years, my health has prevented me from being my complete self. My decline in health has held me back from working a steady job and this has caused me to be in financial despair. My health insurance is due to cancel on August 31st for non-payment and my medical bills are piling up.
In August of 2013, at the young age of 32, I had a full hysterectomy and bladder repair due to ovarian cysts. Within a week I started menopause symptoms. I was having hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, and mood swings. Due to a previous mini-stroke, my doctors did not want to put me on any hormone treatment.
After a year and half of natural treatment, my health only got worse. I began having panic attacks and back pain diagnosed as osteoarthritis of the spine. My co-workers and loved ones began to notice a mental decline, inability to focus and memory loss. This led to losing my job.
After several tests, they revealed a neurocognitive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. The neurologist gave the okay to start hormone treatments. I was sent to a rheumatologist after experiencing chronic pain all over my body and chronic fatigue. Eventually, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease) and Fibromyalgia.
Fast forward to today, My symptoms have worsened and at times it is difficult for me to even get out of bed. I was recently in the hospital for colitis and every day is a struggle. I am in need of financial assistance to keep my health insurance active, to continue with my specialist visits, medications and to pay off hospital bills. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
