Nikki's Boot Kicking War on Cancer!

Donation protected
Cancer Kicking Boots- Nikki has a motto that any trial or hardship we face can be beaten with a kick butt pair of boots.

We have started this page for Nikki in hopes of raising funds to help our dear friend stomp out her aggressive Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Nikki was first diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in January 2013. While this was shocking for Nikki, she knew she could and would beat this disease.

This diagnosis comes after some very difficult times in Nikki's life. As many of you know, Nikki's husband died suddenly of a massive heart attack in 2009. Nikki was left alone to raise their 2 daughters, Katie 8 and Sarah 5 (now 12 and 9). Because of Nikki's desire to overcome this tragedy, she worked very hard to relearn life and to create a "new normal" in which her kids and herself would not only survive, but thrive.

Nikki was fortunate enough to have life insurance on her husband. After careful consideration, Nikki placed her money with an investor, hoping to see it grow and provide for her family for many years to come. The exact opposite happened when the investor was arrested for fraud and all of her life savings was lost. Showing true resilience, Nikki put her kick butt boots back on, working hard as a real estate agent, earning a nice income for her family.

During this time, Nikki met a wonderful man and fell in love. She was so happy and life was looking up. They both felt so lucky to have found each other. Only a few months into this relationship, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brian held Nikki's hand and told her he was here for her and would see her through all treatments and surgeries and on through recovery.

What we all thought would be a battle against breast cancer has now turned in to a full on war. Nikki thought she was cancer free in August of 2013 after completing 6 rounds of chemotherapy. In January she was recovering from her last reconstructive surgery. She developed what was thought to be post-op pneumonia and a CT scan of her chest was performed. Instead of pneumonia, Nikki learned that the cancer returned, this time spreading throughout her body.

Nikki will be traveling to MD Anderson hospital in Houston, TX for treatment. With the mounting medical bills and future travel expenses we hope that you will help Nikki win her war against cancer. Please consider making a contribution to her fund. Together we will Kick Cancer's Butt.
Thank you very much for your support of our dear friend!!
