Aloha Ohana! A group of friends and I (Anon Shine) have started volunteering our time and energy to provide free healing services at the Pu'uhonua Hub (Fridays 12-5pm) and at the Pahoa Red Cross Shelter (Saturdays 11am-4pm). Volunteers are offering Massage, Acupuncture, Reiki, Rolfing, Aromatherapy, Mental Health Support, Art Therapy Activities, Keiki Care Services, Medicinal Teas and Healthy Treats. We have had a great turn out of volunteers so far and would like to be able to continue offering these services to evacuees and other volunteers for as long as possible! Contact Molly Irene (see number on flyer below) if you would like to volunteer.

In order to do this we will need to have some funds on hand to purchase ingredients for teas and treats, complimentary lunches for volunteers, art supplies and other eventualities that our volunteers will need to make their spaces welcoming and comfortable such as rugs and linens for massage tables. We also will need cups to serve drinks and other compostable products to serve lunch and other foods we prepare and provide. We will need ice to keep certain items cold in coolers. We may need more tents if our Healing Village continues to grow and it would be nice to have an extra massage table in case a volunteer practitioner can not bring their own. Printing fees are also adding us as we print flyers in order to make sure that the people that need our services know about us. We are also working on printing resource materials for evacuees.

I am in the area and have taken on a lot of the responsibilities in regard to shopping for these necessary items. I am evacuated from Leilani myself but love to be able to help out in these ways that I can. We had $250 in donations but I have already spent another $200 out of my own pocket to cover things we needed. I am setting up this fund, with the support of my fellow volunteers, to go to my bank account so that the funds will be on hand for me to get these necessary items for our project ASAP. We are all more then happy to donate our time and talents but of course need a little help in covering these other expenses! Please help if you can so that we can continue to offer these lovely services to those who need them most! If we end up getting more donations then we use we will donate to another worthy group who is helping those effected in Puna. Mahalo for your Kokua!
