Healing Hands Woodshop Rebuild

Donation protected
Healing Hands Woodshop burned on June 21, 2016. We are raising money to help rebuild the shop.

The wood shop was part of a sheltered work program for youth and young adults where we built cedar strip canoes and re-purposed pallets into furniture and other creations. We partner with other youth service organizations to support marginalized and vulnerable young people and encourage them towards holistic life development.  We are rooted in our Christian faith but provide service to all portions of the population. We are located in an innercity neighbourhood in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The money raised here will go towards helping with site clean up, building a new facility to continue providing learning and relationship opportunities, and replacing lost tools, lumber, and other resources. While we do have some insurance coverage, the sooner we can raise funds the sooner we can get back to providing services and supports to individual youth and other organizations.

Approximately half of the programming we provide was done through the wood shop (the other half is done through the bike shop, which was damaged but not destroyed) so this is a significant loss to us and our community.  It would not only mean a lot to us, but to our community and the people we serve to have a good facility up and running again.

We are incredibly thankful for all the moral support and encouragement we have received so far and are very thankful for any donations that help us get back on our feet.
