Healing Vibes for Killian
Killian means 'Small Battle' and for the past two short months of his life this has been his living reality.
Shortly after he was born Killian was taken to Hospital for Meningitis where he remained for 4 weeks with his mama Kaelynn by his side. After a short period at home, Killian has fallen ill once again and has been airlifted to the Children's Hospital in Saskatoon. It is uncertain at this point exactly what is going on but it is believe to be a relapse from his previous infection that may have not been fully resolved. Right now is a crucial time for Killian while medical teams assess and determine the appropriate treatment path for his recovery - he is exactly where he needs to be and has Saskatchewan's best Pediatrican looking after him.
Kaelynn is being as strong as humanly possible but the helplessness and unknown is overwhelming and quite frightening. Her parents Kevin & Connie and good friend are by her side right now for comfort and support. Killian is looking at another lengthy stay in hopes to finally overcome this resistant infection. Kaelynn will remain by his side through it all and thanks everyone for your understanding while she maintains focus on her little boy. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated while Killian fights for his health. All donations will go towards expenses needed for his mama to stay by his side. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and kindness. #PrayForKillian
Killian's Auntie April
Following the complications related to the MRI, Killian has made a full recovery!!!! Details of what happened really put into perspective how close we were to losing our Little Man. Thankfully he is the strongest, most determined little person we know and showed us just how much of a fighter he truly is. Your prayers worked! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping him in your thoughts during such a scary and vulnerable time.
On another hugely positive note....Killian has been cleared of treatment for meningitis following 15 weeks of antibiotics and is now free from his PICC line!!!! While other treatment still remains in place for issues that arose due to the infection, he has successfully battled and won his fight against meningitis!!! This is a HUGE step forward for mister man and we are so so so proud of him!! His road ahead may still be long but we are more than confident that one day this will all be but a memory and in the grand scheme, that he will make a full recovery over all. One day at a time. You got this Little Man! #PrayForKillian
Killian had a good night and is awake. All supports and meds have been decreased and/or stopped. This morning he got to feel the comfort of his mama's arms again, a truly magical and emotional moment. Our little man never ceases to amaze us with his strength and determination but he sured scared the *beep* out of us! He isn't out of the woods yet but we are hopeful he will push through quickly. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, we are so very grateful for them all. #PrayForKillian
Complications followed a routine MRI this morning requiring resuscitation. Killian is now in the Pediatric ICU in Saskatoon. I will update when I know more. Please pray for him and his mama! #PrayForKillian
Hi April, I just wanted to pass along some info. Not sure if your family has been in contact with the Kinsmen foundation. They will help with expenses. You would need to apply for emergency funding because they won't pay back bills from before- only from the appointment date on. The office number is 244-6400. They might be able to get emergency funding in place for travel, accommodations and meals as well as parking, etc. They will assign a rep to help. I wasn't sure they best way to pass this on. I shared the page and a lady that has been on the committee that assigns funding reached out to me to suggest this. Hope this helps. Praying for Killian and hoping for the best for all of you. Lots of love.
