Healing Paws for Warriors is a local (Fort Walton Beach) registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing post 9/11 combat veterans wounded from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST) rescue-to-trained ADA certified service dogs.
The Emerald Coast Association of Realtors®
(ECAR) had the privilege of having Mike Arena, executive director of Healing Paws for Warriors, with his service dog Orion speak at our Broker Breakfast and Annual Membership Meeting. After listening to his powerful story, we believe the mission of his organization is a cause our Realtor®
Association would be proud to get behind.
It is ECAR’s goal to fully fund two of these dogs, in an effort to help members of our community that have given so much for us. Each dog costs $3,000 to complete training, with no cost to the veteran in need. Plus, every training dog is saved from a local dog rescue. ECAR members have donated $2,280 so far and through Go Fund Me, I believe our membership can come up with the remaining $3,720. Let’s come together and be a source of positivity in our community!
