Healing support for Christopher VanEpps

Donation protected
Some may know that Christopher VanEpps was hospitalized on September 8th for pneumonia as a result of a double ear infection. He was pretty sick by the time he was hospitalized. In addition to the pneumonia, he couldn’t hear because of the infection and one ear was perforated, and he had pain in his right side which originally was thought to be caused from coughing but turns out could be a gall bladder issue. He remained in the hospital for 5 days to complete a round of IV antibiotics as well as additional testing with ENT and for his gall bladder which could result in surgery. Chris has been a good friend to many and cares greatly for those in his life and who he comes into contact with often putting others before himself. He is humble and finds it hard to ask others for help. On numerous occasions he has made meals for the sick, provided Christmas in the past for a mother and family of 6 and participated in community volunteering. These are just some of the ways Chris has given back to others. His family says he’s the one that in spite of his work responsibilities, is the first one to cook and check on family. “He really is a lifesaver to many as well as a friend to anyone who passed his way.” Chris closed his restaurant the end of June and had started working tending to the bar at Pultneyville Harbor Grille. The healing that is required at this time does not allow for him to be medially released to return to work due to being on his feet 10-12 hours and heavy lifting. As a result, Chris has already lost two weeks pay and will be losing about 4 more weeks. Pending he doesn’t need the additionally surgery. As the Maitre D’ at Maitre D’, Chris had consistent business practices of taking care of his staff by providing dinner for them nightly. This is a practice few restaurant owners provide. He would oftentimes put his staff before himself including paying his staff before himself. With this medical situation that will result in loss of income for Chris for a few weeks, his friends and family want to help him so the financial worries don’t become a barrier to his healing. This is why a group of us have come together to start this account to help him offset his medical bills and basic living expenses during this time. Any good wishes, prayers, or support in any way would be much appreciated. It’s an opportunity to show Chris the village of care that he’s been such an integral part of creating and fostering. ALL monies raised will go to pay medical expenses (prescriptions, etc.) and living expenses (home, electric/heat, water, etc.). We are certain that once Chris has moved back to physical health, he will give back as he does so compassionately to others. Chris has a doctor's appt today, 9/16 and we will update after his appt.
