Hayward High Music Fieldtrip

Organizing a field trip for over 50 Hayward High Marching Band and Color Guard students to go to Disneyland to perform is a large undertaking. From fundraising, travel expenses to equipment logistics, it’s a lot of work for the parents, band boosters and the staff to pull off.  

Last year, I gave the students a challenge. Earn a “superior” ranking at a competition and I will bring the idea of performing at Disneyland to the parents. They did it. They earned the highest score at the California Music Educators Association, (CMEA) the first time in 20 years. After the competition, they were quick to remind me of my promise!

I asked the parents and the band boosters could we make this happen for the kids? The students have been fundraising all year, but we could use your help to carry us over the finish line.  

Please consider helping us with a donation. The amount raised will be split among the students to ease the financial responsibly on the parents. This is a rare opportunity for incredibly talented students to represent the city of Hayward by performing on a national stage in May of 2018. Any amount is really appreciated, thank you!
