Have a Heart to Help Princess
Donation protected
Wags and Walks rescued sweet Princess from a City shelter and upon bringing her to our vet we learned she had a heart murmur. To be thorough we brought her to see a cardiology specialist to investigate the murmur. Unfortunately the cardiologist determined that her murmur is a result of a more serious heart condition called degenerative valve disease (DVD). Basically the valves that carry blood to/from her heart are leaky which cause thickening of the valves, high blood pressure and enlargement of the heart.
Princess is now on daily medications to help the problem but this condition is considered progressive - the medication will help but the issue cannot be fixed or reversed. Princess will take this medication for the rest of her life and she will need periodic monitoring at the cardiologist for an echocardiogram every 6 months.
We have already started treatment for Princess but we need your help to cover the costs of her care so we can continue to save as many dogs as possible.
