Help HashtagHope Cross Canada!

HashtagHope is travelling and speaking at 32 events across Canada this summer and we need your help in raising $3000 to get there and back!

 The "Not Lost But Adventuring" Cross Canada Tour!

The HashtagHope team is so excited to announce that we will be travelling from the Atlantic to the Pacific ocean this summer speaking and sharing a message of Hope and second chances. The first leg of the journey will be with our friends in Kennedy from Montreal Quebec. Kennedy is a passionate and artistic hardcore band who believe in standing up for injustice within our culture and political system. They are a very experienced touring band and have invited us out for their westerly tour with Conveyer (Victory Records) and Church Tounge. We are so grateful for the partnership that Kennedy has been to HashtagHope in the past and for this incredible opportunity to speak before their set at each date across Canada.

The second leg of the journey will be with our friends in Gold Finch a Post Rock band from Waterloo Ontario. Gold Finch is a group of talented and hardworking young musicians who believe in social justice and suicide prevention. HashtagHope and Gold Finch are working together along side Corbin Giroux a solo artist from Hamilton Ontario to travel from Hamilton to Prince Edward Island during the month of August.

Our mission this summer is simple; it’s about hope and the need for more of it. Our priority is to inspire young people to stand up against the darkness and depression they are experiencing in their life and take the first step towards overcoming the grips of hopelessness. Through the words that Nick Pegg will speak at each night we pray that many of the hurting youth in the audience will be inspired to talk about their struggles with us or someone in their life. Our merch table will be setup each night at the event distributing information for local mental health resources and aids in the community. We will also be selling our clothing line at every show, clothing that radiates a message of hope; turning the person wearing it into a walking billboard of positivity. Our clothing line is something that we believe strongly in as an outreach tool that also helps almost completely fund all of the events and endeavours of HashtagHope.

This summer will be the biggest endeavour that HashtagHope has ever been a part of. The opportunities to connect with young people and help direct them towards local resources and plant seeds of hope is something that you cannot put a price on. We believe so strongly in the mission and outreach this summer that we are willing to invest our own personal finances into the project.

Nick Pegg (Founder of HashtagHope) and Joe O’Connor (Newest team member from New Zealand and filmmaker) along with speaking and running the merch table, we will be documenting the entire tour across the country filming a documentary about what HashtagHope is doing, how it’s helping people, it’s unique take on outreach and whatever crazy stories come our way. Our goal is to premiere the documentary at a HashtagHope party at the end of 2017. You are invited.

So what’s the deal?

So here’s the deal, We (Nick and Joe) are going out on the road regardless of how much money we raise through this campaign. We believe so strongly in this project and what we plan to do that we are willing to go into debt for the sake of attempting to help people across Canada. This may come across as reckless but we see it as purpose.

Here are our estimated cost and budget.

Food = $10 per day per person = $640

Rent= $500 per month = June + August $1000

OSAP = $270

Gas= Gift for Kennedy Band + August dates = $400

Van rental = for August dates $400

Gear= Audio recorder $200
HDD $100
Second Camera $350

Total Estimated $3000
*Raising more than our goal will still go towards the tour funds.

We are blessed to be working with other people to run these events, this helps keep our cost as low as it is. If we were doing this all ourselves it would cost over $20k.

So if you’re wiling to go on your own dollar, why ask for money?

I (Nick) travel, speak, and run HashtagHope full time. My monthly income barely allows me to pay rent, student loans, and a phone bill. That being said, I am still willing to live in faith that I am supposed to be doing this with my life. I’ve learned over the past few years of living like this that there are many people around me who would love to support and get involved in some way, but in the past I had not been open with what I was doing to allow others to give. I’ve learned that allowing others to support and give (when in need) takes what I do to a whole other level. It’s easier to be confident in what you do when you have a community of friends behind you cheering you on. By giving to this summer of events through our GoFundMe you become part of the team allowing us to confidently and passionately put our everything into this summer. Through your support and your belief in us and our abilities, you become the water that allows us to grow and flourish.

Loads more content and information will be posted over the next week. Share this campaign if you cannot support financially.
