Help Collins Recover

Donation protected
Any time sickness threatens to take a life it is a horrible thing, but whenever a sickness tries to take the life of such a goodhearted, loving, and dedicated man such as Ayella Collins, it is a true tragedy.

Collins has always had the reputation for supporting and uplifting people in his community, and in mid-2017 he started a campaign (@HashtagGulu on FB) to help the most disenfranchised and unloved groups of people in Uganda–street kids, who have been robbed of their ability to live a happy, innocent childhood, and who are actually hated by so many people who see them as violent criminals instead of hurting youths. The campaign that Collins started helped these children access medical treatment, food, and other necessities, but his priority is something no other outreaches have focused on: breaking the barriers between street children and the larger community, which he achieved. By having such a beautiful heart and sincere dedication, Collins was able to humanize street children and create an environment of love, rather than hate, for them to live in.

About 6 weeks ago Collins began to struggle with his memory and developed unusual pain and even numbness on the left side of his body. The doctors at his small hospital in Northern Uganda failed to identify the problem as his condition rapidly worsened to the point of being bedridden, unable to speak and talk. He traveled to Kampala, Uganda, where he was finally diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia and was found to have spotting on his brain, which his doctors still don’t fully understand. We are fundraising money in order to treat his bronchial pneumonia and take him to the top neurologist in the country (or with enough support, we could even take him out of the country where there are more advanced neurology programs).

Collins is the rare type of person who would give the last of what he has, financially, physically, and emotionally, in order to support his community. He had become a father to hundreds of orphans, and in his absence, they have again been placed in that vulnerable position without anyone to stand up for them.

Please find it in your heart to donate what you can. We need to get Collins back on his feet so that he can continue to spread love and help the helpless. In the harsh world we live in, we need more people like Collins. This is a life or death situation, and WE NEED HIM TO LIVE!
