Hasan's Memorial

On November 28th, Hasan was admitted into the hospital after losing feeling in his leg. After hearing of his months battling vertigo, intense pain, and other troublesome sensations, doctors speculated that all his symptoms are related. Hasan has now spent several nights in the ICU undergoing tests and procedures to find the root of his condition.
Hasan has little to no mobility and is rarely able to speak or interact with his visitors, making it difficult for his 4-year-old daughter to visit. This illness has been especially rough on Hasan, as the holidays are approaching and he hasn’t been able to work in weeks.
Thus far, Hasan has had 4 spinal taps, 3 CT scans, and 3 MRIs. He has been on a respirator and undergone plasma recycling and constant heart monitoring. Because Hasan does not have health insurance, the stress of being in the hospital has been especially heavy on him.
Doctors are working tirelessly to alleviate Hasan’s symptoms and to find a cause for his suffering, but they haven’t made much progress yet. What they’ve found is Hasan's immune system is attacking the myelin sheaths of his nerves, and the damage has unfortunately already reached his brain stem. Currently, doctors are working to rule out Neurosarcoidosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and multiple sclerosis.
We are hoping to relieve a bit of the stress of medical bills and personal finances, so Hasan can focus on recovering. Especially with the holidays approaching, it is important to him to give his little girl the Christmas she so much deserves, even if he can’t gift her yet with his health and peace of mind.
