In Febuary of 2018 my father-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. After 5 weeks of chemo and radiation he became to sick and weak to continue treatment. It had gotten to the point that he was unable to take anything by mouth (food, liquids, medication). He had a feeding tube put in but it would not function properly and only made matters worse. At the end of July, with the advice of his doctors, he had decided to stop any further treatment as it would only make his condition worse and lose his battle even sooner. Once this decision had been made he was released out of the hospital on hospice care.  Since returing home, he has now began to receive numerous medical bills that are amounting to far more than what was originally figured to be. Along with these and also trying to plan for a funeral and cremation, he is struggling to make ends met for himself and his 15 year old daughter. We are thankful for each day that he is still given to be with both of his children and his granddaughter, as there is no guarantee how much longer he will be with us. Any help with medical expenses and funeral/cremation will aide in easing his transition into the next stage of existence and help relieve what stress we can for him.
