Richard Fletcher, Dundalk, Md
The Harbor View Neighborhood Association has rallied around the family. We are working closely with the family to assist them during this difficult time. We estimate his medical bills will be between $200,000-$400,000 . His medical insurance will not pay for all of the bills. At this time, he is out of the hospital but he will need several additional surgeries. So Rick has a long road to recovery. All proceeds from this campain will be given to the family for his co-pays, and other medical expenses. We do not expect the perpetrators will help him or his family pay for any of the medical expenses.
If you would like to help, please donate to this very worthy cause , as Rick did not deserve this. If you do not want to donate via GOFUNDME, please make a check out to Richard Fletcher and send it to:

I go to Hopkins today, discuss nasal reconstruction and plastic surg., then to the best neurologist Hopkins has...the director of neuro. I'm very fragile and weak, so ty to those that support my mental condition..
For those that are sending checks, today I sent out handwritten 'Thank You" notes. There were a couple of donations that did not have any names and addresses. I wanted to be sure to say "Thank You" for your donation to Richard. Every single donation counts!
This sickening story is yet another example of the senseless hate being fueled by the media whores that promote racism to sell news. In my opinion they are completely responsible for the Baltimore riots as well as all the other cities that have been trashed. It's a shame that there are those so mindless that they buy into every word they hear from politically biased news outlets and just aren't capable of reading between the lines. I hope they are proud of their accomplishment. The only wish I can have is a for a full recovery and prosecution to the fullest extent to those responsible for this attempted murder, but I doubt the latter will ever happen. I'll be sending a donation to The Harbor View Association.
They were collecting at the school meeting Wednesday and I left an application there for him. Hoping it got to him. As a victim, there is a fund set up by Maryland that most people don't know about that will cover his medical expenses. Hope this helps. Prayers for him and his family.
I wish there was another option like thru a bank as I will NOT ever use gofundme again. They pick and choose based on their beliefs and they will never make a dime off me again. Im so sorry for this gentleman that he went thru this horrible thing. Praying for fast recovery physically and emotionally.
I am praying for u Rick we travel down your st a lot. This is so wrong U should be recognized as a hero instead of being recognized as a badly injured person. Thank you for trying to help the community God bless you and heal your body and touch your family in Jesus name we pray we pray!!
Hello. I have read about this and I'm lost for words right now. My heart is broken for this precious man. I would like to mail a check to Rachel to help her with the medical cost. Is there an address I could mail a check to? My email is firstname.lastname@example.org if anyone could help me with this. I hope to hear from someone. My prayers are headed your way. My love, Carol E.
I wish i could help, but can onlu offer prayers. The kids who did this, their families should be responsible for his entire medical cost and the cost for him to live a very fun, travel filled, relaxing life from hete on out. I will pray, and hope for the best possible outcome for u. Stay strong!
Who failed to properly raise, nurture, supervise and imbue these children with a sense of compassion, empathy and respect for their neighbors? Is it caregivers like Baltimore mom/grandmother Ms. Toya Graham who grew up witnessing other moms building large families that struggle and experience hardships, and at eighteen-years-old began building a large family that she irresponsibly introduced to the same struggles and hardships? Despite advising CNN's Anderson Cooper, "At no time is my son a thug," Ms. Graham raised at least one extremely angry, depressed, frustrated male child who joined other depressed, angry, frustrated children attempting to cause grave harm to peaceful people charged with protecting their community from depressed, angry, frustrated children, teens and adults. Or are the caregivers to children like American rapper Kendrick Lamar (born June 17, 1987) who in his 2015 Grammy award winning Rap Performance, "I", writes, "I've been dealing with depression ever since an adolescent." Quoting a January 2011 LAWeekly interview with Kendrick: "Lamar's parents moved from Chicago to Compton in 1984 with all of $500 in their pockets. "My mom's one of 13 siblings, and they all got six kids, and till I was 13 everybody was in Compton," he says. "I'm 6 years old, seein' my uncles playing with shotguns, sellin' dope in front of the apartment. My moms and pops never said nothing, 'cause they were young and living wild, too. I got about 15 stories like 'Average Joe.'" Or are caregivers like the people who 'created' popular American rapper, Tupac Amaru Shakur (born Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), responsible for causing Tupac to rap/write and clearly describe the horrific child neglect and maltreatment he suffered as a developing human child? In one rap titled 'Dear Mama' Tupac writes about his love/hate relationship with his mom, his anger and great disappointment with his dad...in another rap titled 'That's Just The Way It Is' an emotionally abused and neglected Tupac writes about harming his peaceful neighbors and frequent thoughts of committing suicide. Why are the people our society says are legally responsible for raising and nurturing peaceful children, NOT being investigated and charged with child abuse or maltreatment offenses for failing to supervise their children...why? #maternal-paternal-responsibility
