My younger sister, Hannah, is 31 years old and is a wonderful wife and a mother to her 16 month old son, Julian.
On January 29th, Hannah, 16 weeks pregnant with her second child, was rushed to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pain. After multiple tests, they discovered two tumors on her liver. They gave her no option but to abort her baby knowing it would be impossible to carry till term. The day after surgery, three days after being admitted into the hospital for stomach pains, she was diagnosed with stage IV (HCC) liver cancer which had spread to her lungs and spine.
Lacking the strength to walk on her own, in addition to having to endure such unbearable pain, she is currently going through treatment as an inpatient. The side-effects of the radiation have been unmerciful. In addition, she hasn't been home in weeks. Her son is brought to the hospital for a visit only on Sundays, and it is during these few hours when suffering occurs the most; my nephew exposes the only genuine smile in the room.
After the current treatment protocols are completed, the doctors are looking towards immunotherapy. However, the cost will not be covered by insurance and is expected to exceed $100K. I'm truly not one to ask others for money, however at present, I’m pleading for my sister’s life. Our goal is to reach $80k and no amount donated is too small.
