Hanna fighting breast cancer

This is the story of my sister’s breast cancer journey that she is currently walking…

My sister Hanna has always been an active person. She joined sports in middle school and high school, traveled, and worked hard. After traveling she came back home to peruse a career in dental hygiene. My sister is a strong believer in health and always told people to drink tons of water because it was the cure for everything. At the age of 19 she met her dream guy. She dated him for about 11 years and they eventually got married, and now have 2 beautiful daughters.

Shortly after the birth of her 2nd daughter at the age of 35 she found a lump in her left breast. We all didn’t think much of it because she was still breast-feeding, and her doctor also assumed it was just fibroadenoma, but had it checked anyways. Early May 2018 she was diagnosed with triple negative ductal breast cancer, tentatively at stage 2. This cancer that chose to dwell in her is aggressive and shifting her life right now.

It has now been about a month since her diagnosis, and she started her first chemotherapy on June 15, 2018. Life is full of surprises; breast cancer was unexpected and gave no time to prepare for this new life she now has to live. About two weeks ago she experienced an allergic reaction to one of the many medications she has been taking to treat her breast cancer, and it lead to her losing control over her eyes and locked her jaw. She was sent to the ER and was able to recover from it.

Going through this new chapter has been taking time away from the norms of her life. With aches and pain that she can not predict, and the unknown of how she would feel day to day, she and her family and doctor made the decision that it was best to cut back on work. Unfortunately not being able to guarantee the hours it may lead to the termination of her health insurance that her daughters are also under. Going under her husbands plan would cost about $900 per month. With only one possible income and medical bills from blood work, CT scans, bone scans, chemotherapy and oral medications, office visits, surgery, radiation therapy, unexpected ER visits and much more, financially it has become overwhelming to think of.

With her insurance possibly terminating soon, and bills to pay we are asking for your support. Any amount is appreciated, and we will be eternally grateful for your kind and giving heart. We will appreciate your donations as soon as possible so that the financial burdens will not pile up, and weigh down her and her family. If financially you are unable to support her, we ask for your prayers. Please become a prayer warrior for her, and all those who are affected by this disease to fight through this war and win.
