Hand Up 4 Homeless Man

$255 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 9 people in 2 months
I have been battling being unexpectedly homeless since June 2017 due to an ugly divorce.
For all but 6 weeks, I have slept in a small station wagon.  Since April of 2017, I have been working various jobs to try to change my situation for my two young kids sake.
Every time I start to make some kind of headway towards getting a place to move into (which is very tough in the Tampa Bay area!), something happens that tries to take me back down a notch.
My last job I was bringing home $2k a month, but working 50-60 hours a week, and missing my visitation with my kids to work the overtime.
Then in May 2018, the divorce was finalized and I now have $1k a month coming out of my check automatically for child support.
I have had to leave my job to pursue a different avenue of income, however I stand to lose everything that I have, including my car, storage unit with my kids stuff (and mine) in it, car insurance and all kinds of expenses.
People would think that even on $1k a month I could eek out a living.  If it were so, I wouldn't be here seeking your help!
Before the child support came out of my check, I was living pay check to pay check, not splurging on anything!  95% of the time I eat a single meal per day, that totals a whopping $2.14 .
Sleeping in my car, in high temperatures (during the day, for my night time job) I burn a 1/4 tank of gas a day, just to be able to sleep.  If I don't get my rest, my driving job at night could cost me my life or the life of someone else in a serious, sleep deprived wreck.
As I stated, I had to leave that job to pursue training for another line of work.
I started school 7-23-18 that will last for 3 weeks.  Then I have 3 days of orientation in Dallas, followed by working with a trainer for the next 6 weeks.
In that time frame I'll potentially lose my storage, car insurance (and subsequently, my license!), my car (due to a title loan) and will not be able to eat anything.
I also have 2 cracked teeth that have been painfully bothering me for the last 4 months.
I've worked since I was 14, and have worked for some huge companies, including IBM, and Government contracting, including GSA.  Then I became a stay at home Dad for 6 years, which obliterated my resume.
All of my skills were deemed worthless.  Around the same time, my wife began exhibiting emotional swings that made me fear for the kids and I, and I took them to a Domestic Violence Shelter February 2017 for our safety.
She had an attorney throughout the divorce, and I was unable to secure one at all, ending the divorce with minimal visitation, high child support, and homeless.
I have a plan for the next 5 years that includes stabilizing my job and housing situation, paying off debts, and working for my children.
It's a doable plan, disguised as work, but I am unafraid to do what it takes to succeed.
For my kids sake and for their future, will you please help me to keep my license and their belongings, and the very little bit that I have left.
If I lose my license because I cant afford the car insurance, then I lose the job I am training for right now, which will leave me deeper in debt, without a car or license, and without any possessions for my own children.
I emplore you to look into your hearts and help a man who is trying with every bit of his being to help himself out of this hole!
Please help me to help my children!!

Tomorrow we enter the next phase of training, which is 2 steps away from graduation and good pay....6-8 weeks for the next phase, then another 30 days to graduate.
I thank you for your support and encouraging words, as each one means a lot to me!
As you can see, I'm on my way to something better, but still have up to 90 days before it is locked in, and money is still a desperate issue for me.
Thank you for this hand up, I promise it will never be forgotten!
With all respect and humility, thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything!
May God fill your lives with abundant blessings!
Sincerely,
Aaron Bain

I am close to getting enough to cover car insurance. Here in Florida, when your insurance expires, the state expects you to turn in your license plate, or they will revoke your license.
I'm living in my car and doing what I can to change the situation so that I can get and keep employment. Without car insurance, I lose everything I have left

A very dear friend of mine reviewed this posting and suggested I edit it to make it sound less desperate.
While I am open to suggestions, and began considering how to rewrite this, I realized that, although she may be right, the situation I'm in couldn't be more desperate for what I am facing.
I've always done my best to be a straight shooter, even when it hurts.
So I decided to leave it as is, because it truthfully explains my situation, and I really have nowhere else to turn to for help.
I've looked into other avenues prior to posting this initially, and it's sad but true: without your help, I stand to lose everything rather quickly.
I need to reinstate my car insurance immediately to keep from losing my license. If I lose my license, I lose a new job that I am already pre hired for as soon as I graduate this school (thursday, next week.) But I will also lose my car, which I am living out of. If I lose this job, my license and my car, my storage unit with my kids belongings and mine will be lost as well....essentially wiping me out completely.
This is a desperate situation, and I humbly seek your help, for my 2 kids sakes!
Any amount helps and I am so very grateful for those who have already donated!
Please help this Father so I can do better for my kids, who do not at this moment know that I have been homeless at all.
Thank you for helping me get the word out and for any amount you can help with!
Sincerely,
Aaron
