Hamp Phillips Funeral Expenses

2 years ago my dad was diagnosed with end stage renal disease (ESRD). After that his kidney function made a steady decline. Along with this diagnosis, there was also spinal stenosis, diabetes, high blood pressure and neuropathy. After trying to fight it with diet and exercise, his kidney doctor decided it was time he should think about going onto dialysis. So last September, he started his journey with dialysis and we came along for the ride. We all thought dialysis would be the best move for him, but he ended up being miserable and dreading going every time he had too. After spending 9 months on dialysis, on June 30th, he decided his quality of life was too poor to continue with the dialysis. He figured if he couldn't enjoy his life, and he wasn't actually improving, then what was the point to continuing.  So he went onto hospice care about a week later. He was certainly happier for as long as the toxin buildup stayed at bay. His greatest joy seemed to be spending time with my son Nathan. Even now as his ability to remember things, recognize people, or even to communicate, he has very few moments of lucidity, and one of those times is when he sees Nathan. daddy's eyes clear and he'll say something like, "Hey buddy" and Daddy will smile the biggest smile.
He's been at home since he started hospice, but tomorrow he'll be transferring to a hospice facility. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are doing this, but I think it is the best course of action.
The reason I set up the Go Fund Me page is because Daddy had a life insurance policy up until last September. He called to take out a loan against it but what ended up happening is he cashed it out and didn't realize it, so there went the insurance. Thanks so much for your support.
