Why do we need your help?
Our Halaigh - who lives in Oslo, Norway, found two big tennis ball sized growths under his arms one morning in June of 2019.
He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Fortunately for him that he lives there because as it turns out Norway is one of the leading countries in cancer care and cancer research. This was a huge plus .
His medical team were immediately on the case and so kind and caring. He felt safe and secure in their hands and trusted them completely.
He started a lengthy chemo treatment followed by radiation. Six months later he got a clear scan . Such relief.
Now begins the recovery to rehabilitate and keep Halaigh cancer free.
The veins in Halaigh’s arms had collapsed and for a while there he looked like a raptor, well at least that's how his brother describes it. Chemo has side affects that persist long after treatment and are pretty grim. This means Halaigh needs rehabilitation, a process which will take time. However Halaigh is improving daily and gaining strength .
While Halaigh has been blessed to have been living in Norway and they have saved his life, he unfortunately is not entitled to any financial assistance and it we have exhausted every resource getting him to this stage so far.
On top of the fatigue that follows the treatments - never mind the disease itself - it's overwhelming. Who knows how long it will take but those of you who know Halaigh know that he is a positive, hard working and eager guy all of which are in his favour.
Just right now he needs a hoosh to get through the next while and devote time to recovery before he gets back to slingin' plates!
A massive , massive, massive and heartfelt thanks to all of you who have donated to Halaigh, given over your time and expertise to help him. All of you who have said prayers for Halaigh, sent countless, wonderful uplifting messages of hope and love to Halaigh , Anne, Des, Nadine , Auberon .
