Coding is a superpower that 90% of parents want their children to learn but is only taught in 40% of schools. According to the College Board, in 2015, only 23% of students interested in computer science and registered for the AP Computer Science A exam were female, and only 18% were underrepresented minorities: 9% hispanic and 4% African American. Furthermore, in a 2007 study by College Board, women who enroll in an AP Computer Science course in high school are 10 times more likely to pursue it in the future, students of underrepresented minorities are 7-8 times more likely, and students, in general, are 6 times more likely*.

Hack4Change hopes to address this problem by holding workshops and programming events for students from all different backgrounds. However, these workshops have costs associated with them, but we don't want money to be a barrier to any child's computer science education. Every dollar donated is a step closer to greater computer science education. By donating today, you could help educate a change maker of tomorrow. We will use all donations to purchase much needed workshop materials like a projector, a projector screen, and mouses. We would appreciate any amount donated and we thank you for your support.
