Why I Want to Study Abroad

One of the reasons why I want to study abroad is because this is a perfect opportunity to see the world, and to see how other people live, and interact with each other. My major is criminal justice, and the class I`m interested to take is CJ 245 Studying abroad in the United Kingdom. The only places I have ever been in are: my home town, Harrisburg Pennsylvania, and Utuado,Puerto Rico. Yes, I have learned so much  living here in PA, and I learned so much about how my family started out, and how they were able to move to Pennsylvania, and start a new life for their family, but I want to learn more about the world. By studying aboard I will not only be able to learn about another culture, but I would be able to see how there laws work, and to see the difference between our laws and theirs.

With this course I will be able to see where it all began. I have learned that this is where the first modern policing was first established, and to see it in a museum in person, instead of just reading it in a book is really exciting!  It would be very interesting to go there, and to talk to the professors, and citizens to hear more about where they live, and learn more about their culture, and share my culture with them. With this course I feel that it will open new doors, and opportunities. Not only that, but It will open my eyes to see if this is the career path I really want to take.
