The Fake Rape Crisis Campus Tour

$2,500 of $3,000 goal

Last week, August 14, I was to give a talk at La Trobe University looking at the supposed "rape crisis" on our campuses. But suddenly the university announced I was banned because my “topic didn’t align with the values of the university" which is promoting a strong campaign against sexual violence.

Here’s an Australian university refusing to allow anyone to tell the truth about the safety of students on our universities. Last year the Human Rights Commission released the results of their million-dollar survey into sexual assault and harassment – a survey that followed years of lobbying by feminist activists  claiming a rape crisis on our campuses.

The results showed there is no rape crisis - only 0.8 percent of students claimed to be sexually assaulted over the previous year, including incidents  on public transport to and from campus. A stranger brushing up against a girl on a train is not what most of us think of as rape on campus. And most of the students claiming sexual assault said they didn’t think it was important enough to report or didn’t need any help.

All the survey  really came up with was low-level harassment including a lot of unwanted staring and some offensive sexual jokes or comments.

Yet universities across the country chose to kowtow to a tiny group of feminist activists rather than celebrate our safe campuses. The NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics found universities are 100 times safer  for young women than the rest of the community.

The La Trobe talk is the first event in my campus tour exposing the fake rape crisis, the first of what I hope will be many talks across the country.

I’m seeking your financial support to make this happen. The La  Trobe talk is taking place on September 6 followed by another at Sydney University on September 11.

Funds are needed to help the student clubs sponsoring these events with their costs, including my travel expenses. With the feminist activists already holding demonstrations protesting the events, we may need to pay for extra security.

I am hearing from students everywhere who are keen for open discussion on this issue on their campuses so  many future talks are being planned. We'll increase the crowd-funding goal as more talks are booked in. I'll post details of the events here and on my Facebook page.

This is one small step towards opening up more free speech on campuses. Please do what you can to contribute.

Thanks for the generous support you have all given to my crowd-funder. I am very happy that we have now nearly reached the first goal.

The La Trobe event is going ahead on Sept 6 - the new date we set after the university administration finally agreed to lift the ban and allow me to speak. You might like to read the lively discussion taking place on the La Trobe Liberal Club Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/latrobeliberals/ about the event. Pretty amazing reading comments from female students saying they feel unsafe because the university is allowing the talk to take place. It would be great if you could contribute intelligently and respectfully to the discussion. I gather everyone is welcome to attend. That's at 11 am on Sept 6, ELT 3, Bundoora Campus.

Then, on September 11, I am supposedly speaking at Sydney Uni, at 6.00 pm. The university is taking a long time to provide a venue - we will see how that pans out. There's already a demonstration being planned against my "disgusting tour of misogyny and misinformation".

The good news is we are planning more events, at Canberra University and hopefully the ANU, Murdoch and possibly some of the Brisbane campuses.

So I am now increasing the goal for fundraising to cover some of the costs of these trips. We are deciding whether I might need extra security for the La Trobe and Sydney events but thanks to you, we have the funds to use for that, if needed.

Thanks again, Tina
