Beds for Refugees

If you don't know me, my name is Audrey Hall, and I work with a group called In The Steps of Boaz in Pittsburgh Pennsylvannia.  We work to help Somali Bantu refugees living in the Pittsburgh area with providing basic needs and teaching them English. There are over 500 Somali Bantu refugees living in the Pittsburgh area; many of them are still sleeping on the floor in unfurnished apartments.  My family has worked over the past year and a half to help these families acquire the basic necessities to survive and live as "normal" as possible.  Our biggest need is new beds, bedding and pillows!  While the families are happy with anything to sleep on, there is something about having a new bed, sheets and pillow that makes one feel a little more human.  Any funds collected will be used to purchase new mattresses, bed frames, sheets and pillows for the numerous families without them.  Currently there are 15 new families moving to Pittsburgh and we would like to be able to help them along with the other families already here.  We would really like to be able to provide these beds by the end of June for all these families.  Once we raise enough to purchase a bed I will withdrawl the money and purchase from Amazon so we can ship directly to a family.  Obviously, $5000 won't cover very many beds but it was just a small goal to start with...feel free to give more!!  Please share with others on your Facebook pages or other social media...help us get the word out!!!
