Help Save Remy

Donation protected

Yesterday afternoon was a horrific time. Remy, our 7 month-old rescue, has always been a happy exuberant girl, excited to meet and greet everyone. It was a fun day in the yard, getting to meet family and friends when she suddenly collapsed without any clues as to why.

Remy has since been in critical care, fighting for her life. The ER and Critical Care Doctors think she's having an anaphylactic reaction to a sting, though nothing has been found. She wasn't responding to Epi treatment, Benadryl, and steroids with fluids and her kidneys began failing yesterday evening. Her blood pressure remained barely recognizable (systolic less than 50). She was placed on plasma with the Epi and then shortly after they began a Dopamine infusion to increase her pressures. Her prognosis was very low, she remained unconscious.

Miraculously she stood up very early this morning, her life slightly looking to come back, but she is now battling with secondary issues (SIRS and DIC) from her unknown anaphylactic reaction. Overall her prognosis has improved but still critical; we're waiting to see if this next Plasma will get her through (her pressures stabilized after weaning off the dopamine infusion but her pressure still needs Epi to remain alive).

Andrea and I are asking for support for our beloved little girl, who we hope will be a therapy dog helping children someday. We would gladly welcome any donation so as to not be limited to her treatment, as it seems she's improving. Thank you for anything you can give.
