HELP US BLOCK THE STREET FOR PRIDE
Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival
For the first time ever, the City of Fresno, California, is requiring extra barricades and extra police presence to block traffic on Olive Avenue for our 26th Annual LGBT Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival, on June 4, 2016!! This new requirement will increase our costs by $5,000!! The Pride Parade Committee is asking you to donate in order to HELP US BLOCK THE STREET!!!
"Free Your Pride!"
Fresno Rainbow Pride wants to thank everyone who has been out there donating, sharing, and bugging your friends to GIVE! We are $940 from our goal of paying for the hard closure of Olive Avenue for the parade.
I am continuing to work with the city to resolve several issues that are impacting us in a very negative way. While we have only 16 days before PRIDE I am sure that we will have an event.
The struggle this year has been long and hard, but we will over come. keep an eye out in the next few days as I may need to ask everyone and anyone to do some calling, emailing, or even old school letter writting to help us get a deal that will work for both us and the city.
Until then the work and planning must go and we ask that you keep on sharing this campaign and challenging your friends to make a donation. There are many new potential donors out there waiting to make their first donation. No amount is to small or to large. Any amount will add to our success.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and "Free Your Pride!"
We are just $1,325 away from paying the bill to block the street.
It is really crazy to think that going from a soft closure to a hard closure could jack our cost from $900 to almost $5,000. But that is what it is.
You can read more about all of the city's new rules and requirements on our Facebook page Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival or in the current issue of the News Link LGBT Newspaper.
It boggles the brain. But giving up is not an option.
We will have a Pride one way or another.
Thanking you for considering a donation. Please Like us on Facebook, share our postings, and please ask your friends, businesses you support, and family members to also make a donation no matter what the size is.
Have you considered corporate/business sponsors? Give them advertising or other promotion in exchange. Many of the area businesses enjoy significant peaks on parade day (i.e. Starbucks, Sequoia Brewery, etc.).
We are still working to block the street for lgbt pride. Come jion us and "free your pride!"
