On any given day, I call my husband at least three times for a favor/errand pertaining to our kids, emotional support regarding our kids and or his opinion/advice about something with our kids. Who does a single mom call? I'm both inspired and heartbroken in considering the single moms in my church and community. They accomplish, alone, a job that really requires two.
As we head into the holiday season, I would like to encourage 150 single moms in our community that they are not forgotten. How does one person go about meeting the true needs of a single mom? Needs like, rent, childcare, transportation, healthcare, grocery bill, etc? By myself I can cover one of the above needs. But, what if there was a way to gather MANY single moms in one place and make an impact so profound that it could affect not just their holiday season but the rest of their parenting journey?
On December 6th, Moms of Destiny is throwing a Christmas party for 150 single moms. The party will include gorgeous holiday decor, a catered sit down meal, entertainment from a local highschool ballroom team, a nationally recognized guest speaker; Wendy Treat, with a message of hope and encouragement, a favor bag of cosmetics and 20 add'tl giveaways each valued at $50.00. But, the biggest surprise of all is when each of the 150 women are given the envelope YOU have gifted containing a crisp $100.00 bill! A gift that many would otherwise never know in this lifetime.
I ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us today in loving on and giving hope to single moms. It's not "just a party", it's an afternoon spent encouraging and educating persons in our community that compassionate people, such as yourself, exist and are cheering them on. By myself I can accomplish little, but together WE can accomplish much!
