Our beloved Frank Chester has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 - Oral Cancer. Over the last few weeks he has been working with his doctors to weigh his medical options. It has been deemed that his type of cancer at this stage is not operable.
Similar to Frank’s cutting-edge geometric work with the Chestahedron, Frank needs to seek out the latest in cutting-edge medical technology and treatments in order to reverse the current course of his physical health. These recommended advanced medical treatments are estimated to cost in excess of $100,000. That is the purpose of this fundraising appeal, going out to Frank’s friends, family and the supporters of the Chestahedron and New Form Technology – Research Center. The goal is to heal Frank’s body to extend his life and enable the continued contributions of the genius of his mind and heart.
Frank’s spirit remains strong through all of this and his creative inspirations continue to come with his Chestahedral heart research where he recently had a breakthrough in extending our understanding of congenital heart disease discovering its underlying geometry. Second, Frank’s heart research has been recognized by Professor/Doctor, JY Kresh the Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery and Biophysics Research Lab at Drexel University College of Medicine. Frank and Jack are currently collaborating together on a research project that has the potential to become a published medical paper. And finally, Frank has been working to transfer his amazing hand-made heart models into 3d computer animations of the inner and outer geometry of the human heartbeat. This will be an amazing animation to help inform and educate the medical community on human heart geometry to inspire future work and research.
