Troy's journey to eyesight

Troy Wengel is 29 years old and unfortunately has lost the majority of his eyesight in an accident close to 5 years ago. He is now officially blind with Optic nerve trauma. This has had a tremedous affect on his ability to live a self sufficent life. Troy can no longer work or care for himself independently.

Family members have further researched and have come across a trial in the United States where they use the stem cell to repair the optic nerve damage.  As a result of this Troy has been successfully accepted into  this trial performed by SCOTS - Stem Cell Opthalmic Treatment Study in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Treatment will begin on the 16th February 2016 for 10 days. Graham and Irene Wengel will be accompanying their son Troy as his carer.

The medical and living expenses are going to be quite costly and we are hoping for any help from the public.
This treatment is going to be very beneificial as research shows this will improve his quality of life.
The treatment itself is going to cost USD$19,600.00 and approximately AUD$ 27,500.00. This does not include any living/travel expenses.

All funds raised will be used accordingly towards all medical, travel and living costs.

Thank you for your support, any amount will be greatly appreciated.
