Joshua's Fight Against Cancer

We are reaching out to all who are willing because we are raising money for our little brother Joshua, 13 years old, and his family.
We were all recently made aware that Joshua has a battle to fight...a battle that has become all too familiar to each of us, a battle fighting cancer. The cancer is called Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as Bile Duct Cancer.
“A rare cancer that forms in the bile ducts. A bile duct is a tube that carries bile
(fluid made by the liver) between the liver and gallbladder and the small intestine.
Intrahepatic bile duct cancer is found inside the liver” (National Cancer Institute).
While Joshua knows about his diagnosis, he is still a kid and does not fully understand what lies ahead. He was admitted into the hospital September 18, 2020 and doctors struggled for a month to come up with a diagnosis (given his age and rarity of this cancer, no one expected this). Finally, he was transferred to UCLA last week, where they gave the diagnosis yesterday (October 20, 2020).
Like most of us, their health insurance will cover some of the expenses, but this will be a long battle that will affect our family on so many levels. Both my dad, Eric Barbone, and his wife, Maria Barbone, were initially out of work due to Covid-19. Now, with the diagnosis, they both can not work. My dad and his wife are at risk for losing their home now and can not afford second opinions from doctors or resources for Joshua and his cancer treatment. They also have a second child, our little sister Patricia Barbone, who is 11 years old and lives with them.
Please help us raise money for this unexpected journey forced upon them and remove some of the financial burden from their shoulders so they can focus on getting Joshua healthy.
Anything you are willing to donate will be graciously accepted. We fully understand the current economic climate has affected many, so if you are not in a position to donate, all we ask is you repost or forward this on.
