Mason Ferrulli

On 1/11/17 Mason was diagnosed with Brain Cancer.  He underwent 14 hours of brain surgery, 5 weeks of rehabilitation - learning how to walk, talk, and eat again, and 6 weeks of radiation.  On 5/1/17 he had his post treatment scans that indicated no evidence of disease.  Mason's life was slowly getting back to "normal."  However, on 4/19/18 we went in for his routine scans and were given the devastating news that his tumor had grown back.  We discovered Mason has a very aggressive type of brain tumor (Type A Anaplastic Ependymoma) and it is now in a difficult spot for surgery.  In the upcoming weeks we will begin tests and consultations with his team of doctors at UCSF.  It is already known that we will have to relocate to another town down south for 6 full weeks for his radiation treatment because UCSF does not offer the type of radiation we are now seeking.  If this hospital says they can not operate, we will travel anywhere in the world to find one that will because removal of the tumor is his only hope.  We will be seeking trials to enroll him in, no matter where they are located. We are going to do everything in our power to fight this disease!!!  To make sure we are there for Mason every step along this difficult journey and enjoy all the time we possibly can with him we will be taking off work for a substantial amount of time.  We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support as we would not be able to face this without all of you behind us.
